Rabies Alert

4 month Rabies Alert: Expires December 31, 2023

This is to advise that there was contact recently between a rabid domesticated cat and the owner along with other members of the household/family in the 2600 block of Zingara Road in Conyers. The cat was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. Rockdale County Animal Services was advised by the Georgia Public Health Lab that the cat tested positive for rabies. Rabies alert signs have been posted in the area where the rabid cat was located. If you see an animal acting abnormally in the area, contact Rockdale County Animal Services at 770-278-8403 or during non-working hours, call Rockdale County E-911 Dispatch at 770-483-4200. Animal owners are encouraged to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies.

This is to advise that there was contact recently between a rabid fox and a citizen in the 800 block of Bell Road in Conyers. The fox was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. Rockdale County Animal Services was advised by the Georgia Public Health Lab that the fox tested positive for rabies. Rabies alert signs have been posted in the area where the rabid fox was located. If you see an animal acting abnormally in the area, contact Rockdale County Animal Services at 770-278-8403 or during non-working hours, call Rockdale County E-911 Dispatch at 770-483-4200. Animal owners are encouraged to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies.
